Amazing Rome

Rome is an amazing city. It’s where you can find a large amount of beautiful ancient architecture. From large buildings until the smallest details in the artwork, history is everywhere around you. It is also an amazing city, because it has various places where you can eat delicious food! And then you will think ‘yes, ok. But which city in Europe hasn’t got this combination?’ I can assure you: there are a lot!

The Colloseum, always impressive.

What to visit?

During your visit in Rome you can go on foot to visit most of the highlights. And although there are always a lot of tourists, when you are in the city you will notice most of them are centered around the Colloseum (and therefore this is my least favourite place although the Colloseum is beautiful). The other very busy yet very beautiful highlight is the Vatican with the St. Peter’s basilica. Yet, there is much more to see with less other tourists around. For example the area Trastevere, piazza del popolo, circo Massimo, Castello Sant’Angelo, la bocca della Veritá, the Spanish steps, a lot of museums from historical art to contemporary art, and lots and lots and lots more.

Food!

What you have to do in any case is: taste the food! In the morning: try something sweet like a cornetto or a zeppole with a cappuccino. Or try two, since your weekend city trip probably won’t have enough mornings to try all the delicious pastries, and you need a solution for that. Then, try a delicious pasta during lunchtime, for instance the pasta Matriciana which originally is from Rome. Then, go around five or six pm to a bar for an aperitivo. This means, a nice drink with, yes, little snack food! Around nine it is time for dinner, and this is a just what you want dinner. I mean, you can order a lot, or you can decide to just order a pasta again, simply because you are crazy about the pasta’s 🙂 One last special item is the icecream. And therefore I already gave my recommendation here.

Go Rome!

I hope you’re convinced a little more: Rome is a very beautiful city worth a visit! Already a walk along the river Tiber, or in the area Trastevere, or around circo Massimo, will give you a nice impression of the city. In case you just booked trips to other cities, and Rome has ended somewhere on a bucket list, I hope with this blog I have made Rome a little more interesting to you!
